All parents are automatically a member of the PTA if you are the parent/carer of a student a t S.A. Joytown Secondary School School – so welcome!
The role of the PTA is currently three fold:
- Coordinates activities to raise funds for those little extras, beyond S.A. Joytown Secondary School’s own remit, which makes life more enjoyable for the students;
- Provides parental feedback, good or bad, on School-related issues to the Senior Management Team, with whom we have regular meetings;
- Takes up parents’/carers’ issues with School which have not been resolved through the normal channels – anonymously where necessary;
In addition to which the Parent Chairman sits on the Governing Board as a representative of the views of parents/carers, in a similar way to both the Staff and Student Leader.
